I had been looking for one and this one is the best and easiest to create.

Blythe's Favorite 15

What a great idea -- and also a nice idea for newbies to view what is out there in the Blythe World.

Pick the top 15 items your doll loves (or you love for your doll!).

BlytheCon 2009: Group Photo

Wow! This looked like fun!
I thought about going myself, but it just was not possible.
Maybe next year.

Meanwhile here are some albums to check out with all out cuteness of all the girls.

Blythe Closets

What to do with all the wardrobe and accessories?

I have been looking around and found this interesting blog with a couple of ideas/possible solutions.

1. Barbie Silk Stone Wardrobe Carrying Case -- no longer made/discountinued but you can find them on eBay.
Original cost for one was priced between $70-90, depending on where you lived and shopped.
BIN prices are very high, twice (or more) the original amount. Shipping is pricey since they are heavy. If you only have one doll and a few items and not much space, this is for you.

Khrome bought one for her Barbie Silk Stone but found a few issues with it for her. She customized it to organize her stash better. You can read about her customizing and her instructions on how to do them
here.

2. Wine Case (that held six bottles) that has been altered to become a wardrobe closet. Khrome also has a great article on how to do this with some interesting tips about using cedar as a lining.
Check it out.

3. Tomoko posted some general instructions on how to make a doll trunk/closet for Petites. (scroll down)

4. Tiny Zippers has a homemade closet made out of an under the bed storage box. The whole project looks fast and inexpensive and easy to store. Also, she sells patterns of vintage styled Barbie clothing and other tiny things for doll tailoring.

5. Over at Flickr, there are plenty of pictures of Blythe closets
or doll closets.

As for me, for now, things are in a basket and some small boxes.
I am trying to thing of a way to make it all work so I guess I shall just continue to work on it and post my own solution when I come to it.

Wooden Hangers

Yes, you can get them off eBay (cheap) but they ship from overseas (expensive, not to mention money exchange charges from your bank).

I found some here in the US in a few sizes so you can take your pick.
They seem a bit more pricey but shipping is cheaper.

The Unmentionables

I needed some extra panties for my Blythes. Just in case you know.

I found a lady on eBay that is all she sells for any sized doll, check to see if she has some in stock.

I did find another lady who hand makes and sells three Barbie sized panties for $4.99.
You can choose pink or tidy whities.
They are very nice indeed and no slipping!

Blythe Dolls

After saving up for a long while and selling off some of my other doll collections to increase my funding, I caved in and got a few full size Blythes (had a few Petites) then went over to Etsy and got a few dresses, so they will be fashionable.

I got Adorable Aubrey (love her red hair) and Frosty Frock (short hair for wearing wigs, not crazy about her hair and pale yellow outfit, but a wig will take care of that!).

My family aren't too crazy about my purchase (scarey, they say) but they laugh. I know they will grow on them. My daughter questioned my "creepy doll" purchase and I told her that I need some "friends and company" to talk to when she goes away to college." She laughed but I know she will miss them when she does go away (not for a while yet).

Blythe Dolls

Someday I will cave in, cough up the cash, and get one for my doll collection.
Like I need another doll for my collection.

They seem creepy with the big eyes and large head however, when people started to be able to afford digital cameras, owners of these dolls took pictures and telling stories. Then some had the cameras and used them as an excuse to get a doll for "pictures".

I laughed and then the dolls seemed to have "personality" and "cuteness".

I came across this article written by a man who has a wife who has two.
He certainly has a sense of humor and this is what makes the dolls so interesting, the take others have on them.

So I suggest you go read the article and view the selected pictures from another man's perspective on these "little darlings".

A Quick History of Blythe -- sort of . . . in a humorous and good way.
