Secret Santa

Secret Santa

First, it stopped snowing last night. Today a warm up and tomorrow warmer so I am hoping for some of it to melt but three storms in one week -- I am pooped.

This week at school, my son has been writting secret notes to his Secret Santa partner, a little girl.
He wrote things like: "I don't like clowns.", "I don't wear glasses." "I like Horrible Harry". (a book series). Yesterday there was no school so no notes, today is the big reveal.

We were suppose to spend up to $3.00 on a gift. We did well. We got a Teddy Bear calendar marked down to 50 cents, two Hello Kitty pencils for $1.00, three bags of microwave popcorn that were on sale 3 for $1.00, and a large chocolate chip cookie from the bakery for 50 cents.

I wrapped up the pencils, popcorn, and cookie then put them inside the wrapped calendar.
I then put the wrapped calendar with the wrapped gifts inside a brown paper grocery bag I painted up with Santa on one side and a panel on the other side that said "shhhh Top Secret" with some faux Santa postage stamps rubberstamped. Then I folded over the top of the bag and stapled it three times to make it peek proof.

I am sure all the children are going to want to get that highly decorated grocery bag! I am sure the little girl will be surprised.

My son figured out his Secret Santa. He got no notes on Monday and Tuesday because that child was absent. Since there was no school yesterday, it could be that he may not be in school today either. We shall see. He has been disappointed.

So this is an exciting day for him. I need to go get the ice cream for the party this afternoon since yesterday we were snowed in.

Time to wrap presents since we could not do that yesterday with the children hanging around for the snow day.
