My thought -- a diploma requirement for every student in their senior year, is to take a mandatory course on Personal Money Management (balancing a checkbook, understanding interest and fees, how to save, budgeting, learning some simple investments, understanding loans and insurances, how to manage credit cards and debt, what does bankruptcy really mean?), before going off to college. Maybe we will not see so many bankruptcies.
