Elvis Impersonators

I find these people most interesting and very amusing although I never was a real Elvis fan, my college room mate was!

I often wonder how much time they put into perfecting their routines.
How many movies they watch, how many times imitating Elvis in front of a mirror.
How much money they spend on outfits.
Certainly an expensive hobby.

I went to a state fair and they had an Elvis look alike wannabe contest. Some of them were even better than Elvis.

I remember some song by someone? that went "Elvis is everywhere, Elvis is everything", something like that. I thought that was pretty funny too.

But my favorite Elvis was the one that was in "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" and sings "Song of the King" to an Elvis type beat and then in the end, ripped off his fake sideburns, tossed them in the air, says "thank you very much" and leaves the stage. I liked all the extra Egyptians with the sunglasses jiving it (bopshubahdy-bahdy) up in the background too.
(The fun part of the Joseph is all the differnt styles of music incorporated into the musical like Elvis, Calypso, rock, ballad, French cafe style, etc. telling the story.)

Go see "Joseph" or an Elvis impersonator if you can. A fun time.

Avatar of Elvis found at Elvisfun.com -- more than 400 more can be found there along with a bunch of other Elvis stuff.
