This Is It

Michael Jackson - This is it

I went to see this with my son and enjoyed it.
I could have done without all those trailers of upcoming movies.
I liked the comments made by the participants in the show.
Most of the dancers said it was because of Michael's inspirations, they danced.
They felt so blessed by the opportunity to work with him. Five thousand tried out for the few dance slots available.
I would have liked to see more of the wardrobe segment.
The set was amazing and how many people it took to work together to create/develop the show to Michael's vision/standard is astounding. It would have been a great live production if it things did not turn out the way they did.
I liked the updated techno Smooth Criminal and Thriller segments.

The official CD of the This Is It contains original studio versions of the songs from the show in the order the concert would have been. There is a second CD with some demos and a poem read by Michael. Also included is a 3o plus page booklet with pics of Michael and the show.
If you have all of Michael's albums, it would be like re-purchasing the songs you have on the other albums. The second CD contains a very small amount of never released material.

The young lady who plays lead guitar in the show/film is Orianthi Panagaris. She is amazing!
Michael saw her perform on TV in Carrie Underwood's band then called her up and asked her if she would consider doing his show. She took up the opportunity. Sad that the show did not go on but more people will see the movie or buy the DVD (coming out in February with extra footage, pre-orders at Amazon) and her light will certainly shine brighter! She does have two albums out also and if you visit one of her sites, you can get a free download.
