Shopping with Strangers

Have you ever done this?

You are in the store and by a product and then someone is talking to themselves about what they are looking at, so you answer them and then you start to shop with them?

Yesterday, at Big Lots, I walked by a very cute little old lady, and she was complaining about the sheets and their cost and how they were not at a bargain savings. I pointed out to her that they were $30. or $40 a set because the thread count was between 320 and 400. I showed her the cheapie ones at $20 which were only 200 or 220 thread count. Usually a high thread count you pay twice or three times maybe four times the price depending on the store and it's markup.

So I told, I loved these sky blue ones with the tonal blue polka dots. I love polka dots, my daughter loves blue. I told her it was too bad that they did not come in twin size because my daughter would really like them. I told her that if she had those sheets, she would have sweet dreams and a blessed life because sleeping on polkadots is a happy experience.

The little lady laughed and told me, that was a wonderful thought and it made her day!
I thought great and you made my day too!

Meanwhile my husband, who was a few feet away, noticed a guy had a drill in his basket. He told the guy that there was a better brand drill with MORE and EXTRAs for the same price. So he showed him and the guy traded up.

It is nice to have such pleasant chit chat with everyday people out on a shopping lark.
