The Ink Blotter

Greetings and thanks for visiting my site project, a blog about something, anything and nothing, but a lot of fun and entertaining useless or useful information, depending on how you look at it.

Actually, this blog now here on Blogspot (thanks Google!) are two former blogs, one gone down without notice (Scribbles at Shoutpost) and the possibly soon to die Ink Blotter at tBlog.

Scribbles went down without any notice, and I think the same will happen to tBlog by next spring 2010. I have also incorporated some other articles that appeared on sites that went down like my GeoCities website, Yahoo360 and my AOL Journal. **sniff**

Unfortunately at either Shoutpost or tBlog, there was no export button and all items had to be c/p one by one with the posting date and time accurately added. However, some articles got updated! I am happy about categories, a post search, and open comments, features which I did not have before.

So you may ask, why do you call this The Ink Botter? What is an Ink Blotter?
Before the convenience of today's plastic ball point pens, pens had ink cartridges that had to be filled by hand. After a person wrote with their pen, they would take this semirounded object, roll it and blot the wet ink. Ink Blotters were also used later as promotional advertisments for business when they became flat and fiberous. Basically, an ink blotter is a clean up tool that is now nearly extinct from every day use. You can search images on Google for them as they are now highly collectible items.

I hope you enjoyed your visit and hope you return in the future.
